You have not packed your bags for your summer holidays, it is already time to plan the next move. Schedule your autumn holidays now. With the proliferation of low-cost airlines, long-haul airfare prices are becoming more affordable.

Going to the other side of the world has never been so accessible. The price of some flights dropped considerably, according to BFMTV. The News chain asked the price comparison site, Kayak, to provide a list of the cheapest long-haul destinations on the air market. The results show that in one year, the price of airline tickets of many destinations has decreased by at least 20%.

The French West Indies, at the top of the cheapest destinations

The French West Indies are at the top of the cheapest destinations. Count 359 € for a return flight to Fort-de-France, in Martinique, 26% less expensive than in October 2017. Same for Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe with a ticket 360 € (- 27 %).

Tickets to the United States have also become much more affordable. New York is the third cheapest long-haul destination, according to Kayak. Despite a drop of only 17% of the price compared to 2017, it takes an average of 366 € to go to the Big Apple.

The destinations whose price has fallen the most

The fall in prices is valid for other flagship destinations across the Atlantic. Miami Florida and San Francisco California have never been so attractive. These two destinations record the largest drop in prices. A non-stop round trip to Miami will cost you € 463, a drop of 28%. And it will cost on average 487 € for a round trip to San Francisco, 29% less than last year.

Singapore, the cheapest destination per kilometer

Asia is not left out. Traveling from Paris to Singapore has never been so cheap. It takes an average of € 525 for a non-stop round trip in October. If we calculate the average price per kilometer, it is the cheapest airline destination. A Paris-Singapore flight (10,700 kilometers) for October of this year costs an average of 2.4 cents per kilometer.

In comparison, traveling by car is ten times more expensive, according to BFMTV who had fun estimating the price of a Paris-Nice in Megane or with a 308. According to the news channel, this journey is about 360 € (toll + gas). Even if you travel at five, it will cost you (excluding car wear) 4 cents / km.
