If you’re heading to California’s seashore, New York’s Hamptons, Hawaii, on a cruise or to any tropical destination for your summer vacation there are some pretty cool things out now you should consider bringing. One, that is especially helpful for beach bunnies is a fashionable dual purpose wraparound towel from Simple Sarongs. They come in different designs are perfect after swimming when you don’t want to get your cover-up or street clothes wet. The sarongs look so chic—especially the one sent me that is black and pink and lacey– you can wear it from hotel room or cabin to beach or pool. You can button it around the hips, waist or chest, too. The sarong cost $50 and come in Xtra small to xtra large (which are $54).
A chic cover up that doubles as a towel and sarong –
In addition to the sarong do pack plenty of strong SPF sunscreen, this advice from a victim skin cancer victim who recently had a growth removed from her forearm. Also for some tropics you will need reef walkers to avoid getting cut by sharp coral (which you should never stand on) and sea urchin (which really hurt when you step on one and you need either to urine on the cuts, no joke, or like me have a doctor extract all the stingers, no fun.
Another company noblo actually sells inflatable beach umbrella anchors. Now I can’t tell you how many times in the afternoon on a Kihei, Hawaii beach the wind came up and blew our umbrella half way down the beach. So this is another cool idea and easy to pack. And then there’s, wait for it! Sand Gone, yes a talc you pat on on your body with a powder puff that helps the beach sand come off your body. Many people don’t like sand on their bodies. I’m packing for my next trip to Hawaii and have all three items already stowed in my luggage. Aloha!
